This is the "Torres" model of British luthier Philip Woodfield. As described by the luthier: "The shape is the largest of the Torres, which is a bit smaller than most modern guitars. To my eyes it is one of the most beautiful shapes. The rib depth is also quite narrow, from about 85mm to 92mm, and the overall weight is low, which make the guitars very comfortable to play. Really, they are 'Torres inspired' rather than 'strictly Torres', as I use my own developments in their construction. It would be a mistake though to assume that these are quiet guitars. They are very lively and surprisingly powerful. The upper treble sings beautifully and the bass is strong. My preferred wood for the back is Indian rosewood to maintain the light weight, with a top of spruce." Pretty much says it all!
For the player looking for a concert guitar to plug in, this guitar has been fitted with a K&K classical pickup, with quarter-inch endpin jack installed. The pickup itself is glued at 4 places under the bridge area and has no holes under the top where piezos usually go - the result is a very natural, woody sound, much like the acoustic sound of the guitar when it's unplugged.
