| Spanish guitar phenomenon Paco de Lucia is widely regarded as the most influential flamenco guitarist of the latter half of the 20th century. He is famous worldwide for the way he both revolutionized and popularized the previously obscure Spanish folk music known as "flamenco". Having often collaborated with other guitar greats such as Al DiMeola, John McLaughlin, and Carlos Santana, to name just a few, he is very well respected in the guitarist community. Known for his blazing fast lead work, clock-like rhythm and the powerful yet soulful character found in both his compositions and playing style, Paco has been igniting the concert stage for nearly 50 years. He has recently introduced a line of exciting flamenco guitars that bear his name. He and his brother Ramon were heavily involved in the creation of these instruments, and are still overseeing production to ensure quality control. Designed with a quick action and a cutting, crisp tone, these guitars are fully capable of satisfying any discriminating concert flamenco guitarist. This model, the "Almoraima", is the middle-level instrument in the Paco de Lucia line. Available in both blanca and negra, it provides a remarkable flamenco punch and has the added durability of a lacquer finish. Materials and contruction are top-notch. Like the "1a" models, the "Almoraima" is completely handcrafted by Vicente Carrillo, and is a tremendous guitar for the money. |
