ABOUT THE ARTIST: Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Roberto Aussel began studying the guitar when he was seven and gave his first first concert six years later. In 1975 he won first prize in the competition of Radio France in Paris, and the first prize in both the Porto Alegre competition in Brazil and the Caracas competition in Venezuela. Actively concerned with contemporary music, Roberto Aussel devotes a major part of his time to this area. In 1979 he participated in the Intercontemporary Ensemble (The Hans Zender Atelier) and has worked with the Groupe Atelier Echange since 1982. Several composers have dedicated works to Roberto Aussel; among them are Marius Constant, Francis Kleynjans, Astor Piazzolla, Francis Schwartz, Jose Luis Campana and Raoul Maldonado. Roberto Aussel has also directed a collection of guitar music for the editor Henry Lemoine since 1983.
