GSI Premiere: Bartosz Paprot records the full set of Tansman's "Inventions Pour Guitare" and more!

Live Performances

We’re happy to share with you new recordings of a Polish guitarist Bartosz Paprot who stopped by our showroom on his first ever U.S. visit. Paprot came to Los Angeles to play a concert at the University of Southern California as a part of the Music@RushHour concert series.

Paprot is an accomplished guitarist in Europe. He won the 1st prize at the Premio Accedemia International Guitar Competition in Rome, Italy and recorded duos by a Greek composer Dinos Constantinides for an American record publishing company CENTAUR. Paprot is also the founder and one of the artistic directors of the International Guitar Competition in Tczew, Poland.

Paprot’s playing style reflects his charismatic personality. He recorded with us Daniel Fortea’s “Mi Favorita” on a 2019 Walter Verreydt SP/AR, as well as compositions by Alexandre Tansman who is also the main focus of Paprot’s doctoral research at the moment: “Passacaille pour guitare” on a 2019 Edmund Blöchinger “Dome” and five movements of “Inventions pour guitare (Hommage a Bach)” on FIVE(!) different guitars: “Passepied” on a 2020 Andy Culpepper “Starry Night”, “Sarabande” on a 1972 Manuel Velazquez SP/CSA, “Sicilienne” on a 2019 Carlos Juan Busquiel SP/BO, “Toccata a’ deux voix”, on a 2006 Jose Ramirez “1912 Manuel Ramirez” SP/CSAR, and “Aria” on a 2016 German Vazquez Rubio “Hauser” SP/IN.
