David Collett visited Germany last week to meet with some of our German luthiers. While there he stopped by the shop of Hermann Hauser III and they chose woods together for our next three guitars. There was no time for an interview, but Hermann provided us with this video he had recently shot.

Excellent video. I always love sneak peeks into luthiers workshops. It seems they Hausers use hot hide glue to put on the back, and then perhaps(?) steam it. Tried and true tradition.

I got my Segovia Model, similiar to the instrument which Mr. Kato plays in this video, from Mr. Hauser and Kathrin in 2007. And indeed, this wonderful instrument will be a friend for the rest of my live. Not only the instrument, the very pleasant Hauser family too.

  7. I’m proud to own a Hauser III Guitar. And Ivan, I agree! It’s very good to have a female Luthier on the Hauser’s dinasty. It will be at least an example to be followed.
