Here’s a great Soleá by Pepe Habichuela – one of the best. If you’re going to be following the lessons we do this month this is a great one to listen to and look for the phrasing and the cadences. Not even that important that you understand everything, but the most important thing in learning flamenco is actually listening to as much as possible and getting the sound and the compás in your ears.  If you listen to a lot of Soleá you’ll also start to notice motifs that come up over and over in all sorts of variations, and the more of those you recognize the quicker you’ll get a handle on everything.

    Here is a rare solea from 1927 of Ramon Montoya(The better known solo is from 1933) Simply amazing even for today.
