Here’s Brig Urias, a student at Pepperdine, playing three guitars from three young Madrid makers – Andrew York’s Jubilation/Sunburst on a 2016 Sergio Perez “Segovia”, Mudarra’s Fantasia que Contrahaze la Harpa en la Manera de Ludovico (also known as Fantasia X) on a 2016 Marco Tejeda “La Latina”, and Torroba’s Fandanguillo on a 2016 Felipe Conde Jr.

Nice to see and hear a young artist who looks and sounds like he means business. I like his tone and his change of colors. The fingering brings out the best in the music and guitar this young student has learned to play well from Mr. Parkening. Looking ahead, perhaps we will hear him play from one of our St Louis stages in the future. Bravo!

  4. Wonderful playing on marvelous instruments!

  5. Joel Henderson says:

Fantastic execution of tone and phrasing…a natural. I do hear some of Parkening/Romero in this young gentleman’s playing, and that’s a good thing!

  6. Christine Lutschg says:

Great young talent. We have so much to look forward to! Nice to know there is a future!
