Here’s Jonathan Roth playing his composition In Your Arms on a gorgeous 1999 Hermann Hauser III maple and spruce guitar.

We asked Jonathan about the piece and here’s what he had to say:

“In Your Arms” was composed during the summer of 2003. I remember taking my guitar to Memorial Park in Wheaton, Illinois one lazy afternoon. As I improvised, some motifs began to emerge and, in what seemed like no time at all, I was left with a brand new work. A couple of months later, I started my sophomore year at Pepperdine University where I played my new song for a friend. I asked if the repetition was tiresome. She said that it was not, but rather, it reminded her of rocking a baby to sleep. That is why I decided to name the piece, “In Your Arms.”
