We’re very happy to announce that we’ve added a new luthier to our roster. French luthier Dominique Field recommended him to David Collett as one of the most promising young luthiers out there at the moment, so David obviously followed up by getting in touch with Luigi, and next thing you know we have a guitar on the way. Locatto is influenced by the old masters, like Torres and Simplicio, and you can see some of those elements in his guitars. We’ll get a recording as soon as the guitar arrives, but in the meantime here’s a video of guitarist Davide Ficco playing some Barrios on a 2004 Locatto.

And here are some photos Luigi sent us of both the guitar that’s on its way (first four photos) and of some of his previous instruments.

The best performance that I have heard for this piece. The union of a master guitarist with an amazing guitar.
