Our good friend George Sakellariou was back for more videos, and here he is playing Baden Powell’s Retrato Brasileiro on a beautiful 1962 Ignacio Fleta that belonged to Angel Romero. We’ll have more from George very soon!

Love the tone. Beautifully played.
Being a long-time member of the St. Louis guitar society, I have heard lots of great players over the years. It is my opinion that George Sakellariou is one of the best players I have ever heard. George is very special.
I studied with George at the Conservatory in San Francisco back in 1978. Glad to see he’s still an amazing player and what an instrument. I played a Fleta once and it was absolutely magical! I really enjoy this series by GSI, keep it going please!
I do agree that George knows what he is playing and does it very soulfully.
However, his bindings could be executed a bit more lush but that might
be the consequence of getting older though I also try to make the music
sound not too stiff. His tone is however wonderful but Fleta’s are often
extraordinary instruments.
Sound like a very lightly built fleta compared to his later instruments. Well played and very cleanly executed.
Your playing has always been great and your tone sounds wonderful!
