Matt Bacon is a young guitarist who is currently teaching at the KM Music Conservatory in Chennai, India. He stopped by on his most recent visit back to the US and recorded some great pieces for us, including Manuel de Falla’s Homage Pour Le Tombeau de Debussy on a 2007 Sebastian Stenzel in spruce and CSA rosewood, and Isaac Albeniz’s Mallorca on a great 2015 G. V. Rubio ‘Estudio 640’ model in cedar and palo escrito. Next week we’ll have some of Matt’s compositions inspired by his time in India.

What did he play on the Rodriguez?

      Hey Thomas,
He played one of his own pieces on that Churchdoor, and we’ll be publishing it next week.

It was indeed a unique pleasure to be introduced to Matt Bacon . His technique is a given but combined
with his dynamics , beautiful tone and energy it has all the makings of great music that transcends the
instrument . The sound that he evokes from the Rubio a $2500 guitar is almost on par with most
instruments I’ve heard on this site . Looking forward to a concert . Beautiful playing !
