Andy Culpepper is putting the finishing touches on his latest guitar for GSI, which will feature a cedar top with maple back and sides. Aside from the beautiful materials used for the tonal production of the guitar – chosen particularly for their extremely lively tapping tones, Andy has been working on a special new rosette for this guitar, which has been inspired by the Vincent Van Gogh painting “Starry Night”. We love that this guitar expands on the practice to draw more literally from the visual art world, reminding all of us that the role of the luthier is an artistic tradition that we all get to benefit from visually as well as sonically!
