Taso Comanescu and Mak Grgic, who have each done many videos for us in the past, have teamed up to form a new guitar duo called Fret X. Here they are playing Telemann’s Canon with Taso on a 1965 Ramirez spruce and Mak on a 2013 Tobias Braun, and Watkin’s Ale on a pair of Fletas – Taso on a 1986 cedar and Mak on a 1957/1999 spruce (the guitar was made by the son in 1999 using back and sides made by the father in 1957).

Huge thanks to the folks at AEA microphones for lending us a pair of their new N22 active ribbon mics. These are the newest addition to their line of ribbon micophones, and as you can hear they’re pretty amazing on guitars. Learn more about the N22 here, and check out the AEA website for info on all of their great ribbon mics.
