With two full days of workshops, classes, and concerts, NEGEF focuses on the guitar as an ensemble instrument.

BCGS welcomes the Cavatina Duo as featured performers. Denis Azabagic and Eugenia Moliner’s first concert for the BCGS around the turn of the decade was one of the best guitar/flute concerts we’ve ever heard. Their infectious energy, sheer virtuosity, and sensitive interpretations amplify the considerable potential of this instrumental combination.

The festival guitar orchestra will also premiere a new commission from the supremely gifted young composer Clarice Assad. Her works have been played by artists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, the Assad Brothers, and the Turtle Island String Quartet. Clarice’s musical creations are energetic, multifaceted, and border-crossing while appealing to performers and audiences alike.
