The 2017 Festival is a “Celebration of Guitar” featuring 12 world-renowned artists in nine concerts, five Masterclasses, a free outdoor concert, two guitar auctions, an exhibit of guitar-themed art, and dozens of guitar makers displaying their instruments in the Vendor Fair.
Don’t miss Opening Night! The 2017 Festival is dedicated to Maestro Christopher Parkening. The evening begins with a concert by Russian virtuoso Rovshan Mamedkuliev, winner of the 2012 Guitar Foundation of America competition, followed by a video on Mr. Parkening’s stellar career, narrated by noted musician and lecturer, Nuvi Mehta. After receiving the La Guitarra Lifetime Achievement Award, Mr. Parkening will perform a brief recital with acclaimed baritone, Jubilant Sykes.
Other internationally acclaimed artists are Meng Su (China), Jason Vieaux (USA), Jérémy Jouve (France), Marc Teicholz (USA), Celil Refik Kaya (Turkey), Johannes Möller (Sweden) and Laura Fraticelli (Argentina).
The five Masterclasses are conducted by an outstanding group of acclaimed teachers: Christopher Parkening, Jason Vieaux, Johannes Möller, Marc Teicholz and Martha Masters.
Concert tickets are reserved seating and affordable. Most concerts are $30, the guitar orchestra concert is free, and the cost to see a two-hour Masterclass is just $12.50. Ticket price includes all service charges, facility fees, credit card charges and parking!
