News

As many of you know the first Virtual Guitar Orchestra’s performance of a new piece by Sergio Assad, “Kaleidokithara” turned out to be a great success! Now we are proud to announce that the second edition of Virtual Guitar Orchestra is going to be brought to you by the GSI Foundation and Augustine Strings will be published on the GSI YouTube Channel!

GSI Foundation has also donated $2,500 to support this project. The second edition is going to be a merger of Fingerstyle and Classical Music. The Virtual Guitar Orchestra project organizers (Mak Grgić, Uros Baric and Sergio Assad) shared with us a list of guitar virtuosos who are going to be featured in the second edition, and it looks absolutely impressive!

CALL FOR DONATIONS

Virtual Guitar Orchestra is still raising the remaining funds for this project as well as the future editions. If you’d like to support it, please help VGO reach the necessary amount and donate to support this project.

The first edition and the performance of “Kaleidokithara” by Sergio Assad has shown that this is a historic act of solidarity between guitarists from around the world. Listen to the full performance in the video below and help us with supporting the future editions of VGO!

Editing all video submissions and putting them together is an incredibly big technical challenge that requires a lot of working and rendering hours. Uros Baric, the main editor of all Virtual Guitar Orchestra videos has shared a behind the scenes video showing his editorial process.

To make the future editions of Virtual Guitar Orchestra possible during these difficult times, the GSI Foundation has provided financial and media support to the project. However, our main focus is to help provide music education in public schools in the Los Angeles area. We believe that every child deserves a high quality music education. Our primary method of raising money comes from selling guitars that are donated to the GSI FOUNDATION. If you have a guitar you wish to donate, please contact us! We will assist you with packing and shipping the instrument and of course cover all expenses. The guitar will be sold through Guitar Salon International and all proceeds will be donated to the Foundation. Of course, you will be provided with a tax-deductible donation letter for the year the donation was made. For more information, contact us at (310) 857-1766[email protected], or visit our website www.gsifoundation.org.
