Something New for the Winners of the Upcoming 2019 "Andriassian Guitar Competition" at Cal State LA.

Both GSI and the GSI Foundation are teaming up to supplement the prize offerings that will be awarded at the upcoming 2019 Gohar & Ovanes Andriassian Classical Guitar Competition at Cal State LA next month – festival dates are November 7-10. For the 1st prize Solo Guitar Competition winner in the “Adult” Division, we’ll be providing the winner with a video recording session here in our Salon which will end up on our YouTube page. For the “Junior” Division, the 1st place winner will be awarded a La Cañada guitar! This is in addition to the awards which already include up to $5,000 in cash and other prizes combined from other sponsors. Deadline for submission is November 1, 2019 so there’s still time to submit applications!

The festival has much more to offer than the competitions – there will be concerts, masterclasses (including one with Lito Romero) and workshops, a guitar ensemble composition competition and a middle & high school guitar ensemble clinic. Also our very own Kai Narezo will be teaching a flamenco guitar workshop. See the flyers below for more details.
