COVID-19: Getting through tough times

With the daily news of the situation surrounding the spread of COVID-19, we at GSI are letting you all know that the health and safety of our employees, customers and colleagues is our top priority – now more than ever. Starting Monday, March 16 we will have limited staff working part-time from our offices to ensure that guitars are being received and sent out, but much of our staff will be doing the majority of work from home. So we’ll continue to be here for you at this time and ask to communicate with us by email which will be the most effective way to stay in touch. We are also suspending in-store visits for now. However, for anyone local who was planning to come in, we’ll be sending guitars out to you via courier so that you can play guitars safely in your own homes.

There’s never been a better time to to slow down and pick up a musical instrument to practice or start playing. Music is a universal language that gets people through hard times. In the video below you can see this beautiful recent story from Italy that shows the power of music in trying times. In fact, this is what our staff plan to do with the extra time we’ll all be spending in our homes in the coming days – more time to practice! We encourage all of you to do the same.
Thank you for your understanding and support and we hope that by taking these kinds of actions, we will help to “flatten the curve” and get past this pandemic as soon as we all can. In meantime, we look forward to hearing from you and hope that you all keep plucking away through this challenging time.
