Mateusz Kowalski in Concert in L.A., featuring Martin Chalifour & Mak Grgic
U.S. Classic Guitar President William Jenks is thrilled to invite you to the 2nd concert of the Los Angeles International Guitar Series, presented by U.S. Classic Guitar. The first half of the evening concert will feature an exciting violin and guitar duo performance with famed LA resident/Slovenian guitarist Mak Grgic alongside violinist Martin Chalifour (LA Phil’s Concertmaster since 1995), who will play on a historic 1711 Stradivarius violin previously owned by composer George Frederick Handel (and more recently by violinist-composer Fritz Kreisler).
The second half of the concert brings Polish virtuoso Mateusz Kowalski to the stage in a solo performance. Mr. Kowalski is the first prize winner of the 2019 EuroString Competition, and his diverse program will include works by Tárrega, Schubert, Barrios, Bach, Giuliani and more!
The Shatto Chapel presents outstanding acoustics and concert ambiance, so this is an incredible event you don’t want to miss!
