'The Twelve Days of Villa-Lobos' at GSI!

“On the first day of Guitar-mas, my true love gave to me… a Torres?” While Guitar-mas isn’t a real holiday (yet), we’re celebrating the season this year by bringing you ‘The Twelve Days of Villa-Lobos!’ Each day for the next two weeks, we’ll be releasing a new etude, all played expertly – and in one sitting – by our good friend Tomasz Fechner.

At the moment, Tomasz is wrapping up his doctoral degree at USC where for his thesis he took on the ambitious task of playing all twelve of Villa-Lobos’s challenging etudes. When he asked if we’d be interested in recording the entire set for us in one night, we agreed faster than a firework on New Year’s Eve!

In each video of the series, Tomasz features a different guitar from our showroom. To start things off, here he is performing Etude No. 1 on a stunning 1939 Hermann Hauser I. As the etudes keep coming, we’ll be adding them here and on our YouTube page where you can subscribe to stay up-to-date on each release.
