Description

One of the rarest of collectable instruments, this guitar was made by Domingo Esteso, who along with fellow worker Santos Hernandez, was one of the great makers to emerge from the Manuel Ramirez shop. The sound is rich, bold, and enchanting, and the playability is excellent. The basses are substantial, and the trebles are plump and resonant. The condition is original including finish, with one well-repaired hairline crack on the back – we are told these were done by the Sobrinos de Esteso (the nephews of Esteso, who apprenticed with him and would eventually found the Conde Hermanos shop). A very fine and well-preserved example from one of the greatest luthiers of the early 20th century.
