Description

This is a fabulous instrument built in Mexico by Abel Garcia – one of Paracho’s most respected contemporary luthiers. It was custom-built for Pepe Romero after Abel had the opportunity to inspect and measure Pepe's original 1856 Antonio de Torres in his home. Abel decided to use cedar for the soundboard as he felt this particular set had a similar molecular structure to the Spanish pine used in the original Torres. The guitar is in great shape – apart from some minor aesthetic wear in the finish, the condition is great with no damage or repairs. It has a super fast attack like a flamenco, and has a rich, layered sound, very textured and velvety, with great volume and clarity. Includes a letter from Pepe Romero verifying the provenance.
