Description

This is a monster of a guitar despite its smaller size. It has all the qualities of an early 20-century peghead Andalucian guitar with the sound resonating off the top, back and sides. It has a loose, dry and penetrating sound with big basses and succulent, fat trebles. The higher registers are incredibly sweet and sensuous. In the hands of a classical player this guitar also sings beautifully - it can accommodate virtually any style of music with great charm and elegance. It was built by Miguel Rodriguez Sr., the patriarch of the Rodriguez family but unfortunately due to a repair on top of the label, the year of construction is hidden. His instruments rarely appear on the market, so this is an extraordinary find. Instruments from the Rodriguez family were built in every decade of the 20th century and have been played by numerous concert players around the world most notably, the Romero family, who have been using Miguel Rodriguez guitars since the late 1950s. Very desirable for its quality (and quantity) of sound – collector and performer alike will find this to be an exciting instrument to own and play.
