The guitars built by the Rodriguez family are among the most desired instruments by collectors, professional performers and guitar aficionados worldwide. We consider the flamenco guitars from this famous shop to be among the best in the world, alongside those of Arcangel Fernandez, Manuel Reyes, and even Marcelo Barbero. This 1961 is an outstanding example, being very light as a feather and with shocking volume and resonance for a guitar of this (or any) period. The tone is a perfect blend of beauty and true flamenco aggressiveness. If massaged by the player, it sings with a sweet voice that is warm and full, but if pushed, even just a little – it awakens with a powerful bark that only the best flamenco guitars can produce. Built by the twin brother of Miguel Rodriguez Jr. (Rafael Rodriguez), this is a rare and highly desirable Rodriguez to the discriminating collector and performer. Setup is extremely low with just the right hint of sizzling buzz, and therefore extremely playable. Very desirable example of a first-rate flamenco from this esteemed workshop.
