The classical and flamenco guitars of Miguel Rodriguez have been the favorite pick of many leading concert artists, most notably all members of the Romero family. This guitar is a monster classical built by Miguel Rodriguez Jr., arguably one of the finest luthiers of the twentieth century. Few maple instruments from this workshop appear with any regularity, so this is a rare treat. It has all the qualities of the well-known rosewood guitars from this period, including a big sound that resonates off the top, back and sides. It has a loose, loud and penetrating sound with big basses and crystal clear trebles. If anything, the maple back and sides gives it a nice warm glow to the sound. This is a superb example of a great Andalucian guitar by one of history’s greatest builders.
