This guitar was built during the great and creative "Churchdoor" period of Miguel Rodriguez Jr.'s output. This guitar features absolutely striking Indian rosewood for the back and sides with hard, sharp and contrasting grain lines that make this an almost "Indian rosewood" counterpart to the CSA rosewoods used for the churchdoors from this same period. It is a first-rate instrument all around. It has enormous power, excellent sustain, very fast attack (like a flamenco). In spite of the long scale, this particular instrument is very easy to play; you hardly notice the size of the neck. These instruments are played by numerous concert players around the world - Pepe Romero alone has recorded dozens of albums on his 1973 Rodriguez. Condition is original and excellent with no cracks or repairs, only some respectfully mild wear in the finish, clearly this has been well-taken care of by previous owners. This is a great example from one of the 20th century's most revered workshops. A joy to play and hear.
