Description

This is a beautifully made guitar from one of America's most well-known luthiers, Dake Traphagen. It features top quality materials and stylish marquetry, giving it a very elegant appearance. Most striking perhaps is the elegant use of spalted maple in the center of the rosette, normally where a mosaic would appear, which reminds us of its origins in the US Pacific Northwest. It has a smooth, round and balanced tone, with quick response similar to the instruments of Miguel Rodriguez (of whom Dake is very fond). It is a fun guitar to play, and has great power for any concert situation. Being a spruce top with CSA rosewood back and sides, it has great clarity and separation between voices and at the same time retains a soft warmth at the center of each note. It has a K&K pure classic pickup for amplification, making it a great gigging guitar or for performing with ensembles where mic'ind would normally be required. Playability and setup are very comfortable and the guitar is in excellent condition with barely any signs of having been played.
