American luthier John Weissenrieder originally built guitars in the workshop of Andrea Tacchi, before setting up his own independent workshop in Florence, Italy. This guitar, his "Simplicio" model, is truly a work of art, from the elegantly carved headstock to the perfectly executed inlay work. True to the Simplicio style, this guitar has a huge, deep bottom end and round, lyrical trebles. Although an old-fashioned charmer in tone, it has plenty of power and projection, enough for any concert situation. Materials are stunning as well – Tuners are by Alessi and the back and sides are made with satinwood (a material also found on some of the more beautiful Simplicio guitars) which is not only beautiful visually but also in its contribution to tone production – providing additional focus and clarity to the fundamental of every note up and down the register. The graceful neck shape and easy action help to create a very playable guitar as well. A wonderful instrument in every regard.
