Description

This is the first guitar we have received from Kenneth that was built in his new workshop based in Fornalutx, Mallorca, Spain. Although the construction was all done in Mallorca, the polishing was completed at his old workshop in Denmark. It is also the first that Kenneth has made for us with walnut for the back and sides - an absolutely beautiful, milky-brown tonewood that is as delightful to the eye as to the ear. In addition to the beautiful materials, Kenneth has also done some tasteful inlay work - herringbone appointments throughout the top and back purfling and around the rosette, as well as a tie-block veneer inlayed with the same mosaic found in the center of the rosette. The rosewood head veneer is also inlayed with an ebony plate, which is a unique touch quickly becoming an identifying mark of this makers work, ever since he introduced it in his flagship instrument, his "Stradivari" model. Soundwise, the guitar itself has a wonderful, robust tone as is typical of Kenneth's best and most recent work. It has great clarity and plenty of projection for the concert stage. His building style is very reminiscent of the old Spanish masters (Garcia, Simplicio, Fleta) yet shows signs of the French and Granada schools (Bouchet, Friederich, Marin) as well. Overall a superb instrument in every regard.
