One of the most beautiful guitars we have ever seen from Hermann Hauser II, who is considered to be one of the greatest makers of the twentieth century. Playability is easy, due to the large but slender and very comfortable neck-shape. It is one of the more powerful Hauser II’s we have seen, and carries very well in a large room. Although a cedar top, the fundamental tones are very clear, like bells, and well separated. The cedar does provide added resonance, giving the guitar a thicker, deeper tone than his spruce instruments. Basses are very strong, steady and precise. In summary, the instrument is like a very loud and perfectly balanced piano but with the lyrical charm and sweetness of a great Hauser I. The materials used on this instrument are unbelievable, the CSA rosewood on the back and sides is of the most stunning variety we’ve seen on any guitar – on par with a great “Churchdoor” Rodriguez. The Hauser dynasty, now spanning four generations, have produced instruments played by countless concert artists including Andres Segovia, Julian Bream, the Romeros and many others. This is a great sounding, looking, and playing Hauser II. A collectors or performers dream!
