Although born in Jaen, luthier Antonio Raya Pardo has lived in Granada since childhood, and is now one of the most important names in the Granada school of guitar making. After establishing his own workshop in the early 1970s, he has since gone on to become a prolific maker. With nearly 600 guitars under his belt to date, Raya Pardo is certainly one of the more experienced luthiers alive today.
This guitar, a spruce top with a lovely set of CSA rosewood back and sides is a true beauty, in terms of both its elegant appearance and incredible tone. Materials and polish are top-notch, and the subtle, clean aesthetics make for a beautiful guitar. The sound is truly impressive, crisp and loud with soulful Granada flair. Condition is excellent with only some mild playing wear in the finish and a slightly widened center seam in the lower bout (which is structurally stable from the inside and in no need of any work). A very capable players guitar, and a fantastic value.
