Description

This guitar was built in the famous Jose Ramirez III workshop, which for over half a century has produced instruments performed on by countless professionals from Sting to Segovia, Chet Atkins to Sabicas and Lee Ritenour to Christopher Parkening. It is stamped internally with the builder's initials, "JG" which stands for Juan Garcia Rey (for a complete list of Ramirez luthiers from this era, click here). This is a great-sounding and easy-to-play example of an older concert flamenco from the golden era of Ramirez. It is lightweight and comfortable, with a dry and aggressive old-world flamenco sound. The top has 2 cracks, re-enforced internally with cleats leaving it in fine structural and playing condition. It also plays and looks great - these repairs have been taken into pricing consideration. It is fitted with old-school wooden pegheads for the traditionalist who likes the lighter feel of the older, mid-century style. An excellent players guitar for the performer looking for a great workhorse that has the classic Ramirez sound.
