For players seeking a more traditional-style classical guitar, these instruments by Hermanos Camps
simply can't be topped. Brothers Jordi and Javier Camps are focused on how to insure that their guitars have a lightweight yet solid build, with incredibly comfortable low and easy setup and precise attention to an ultra clean "fit-and finish". Of course tone quality and balance are the ultimate concern and we are extremely proud to say that these are among our better Spanish-made classical guitars.
This model, an hommage to Antonio de Torres was designed for professional guitar players looking for a traditional-sounding but modern-playing guitar. It has the lightweight build that this maker is known for, but with some modern features like 20th fret, ebony reinforced neck and slightly elevated fingerboard for improved playability. It has an outstanding quality of sound, remarkably balanced with penetrating, lyrical trebles and sturdy, clear yet plump basses. It is made with first-class, traditional materials, the best the Camps brothers have. The rosette is a replica taken from an original Torres - SE 60, built in 1884. The beautifully shaped plantilla is eye-catching and the overall design is remarkably elegant. Playability and setup are a dream, with nice, easy action. Fitted with a beautiful set of Alessi tuners and varnished with a very thin coat of shellac. Absolutely fantastic value for the money.
