Description

This is a great example of one of Italy's most interesting guitar makers. The guitar is heavier than most due to having extra-thick back and sides. This forces the top to do all the vibrating, making this guitar project extremely well while retaining all the clarity of the note. This instrument is extremely well-suited to ensemble work (with percussion ensemble, orchestra, piano, etc.). Pepe Romero has had great success concertizing on these instruments for concerto work while on tours of Europe. These have also been used by members of other top guitar ensembles, including the Brazilian Guitar Quartet and Guitart Quartet. Indeed this very instrument was originally owned by Gianvito Pulzone, of the Guitart Quartet.

This 2016 model (named "Larina") was made with fairly straight, quartered CSA rosewood for the back and sides with some contrasting sap towards the center seam, and uses European spruce for the soundboard. Typical of this makers style, it also has a unique aesthetic - very simple design in the headstock, rosette and purfling, which allows for the dramatic natural elements to stand out. Playability is a breeze with a comfortable neck shape and raised fingerboard for easier reach above the 12th fret. Fitted also with a 20th fret for players needing a high c natural and sound port on the upper bout, bass side rib, which adds some additional volume - especially to the player. Although a second-hand instrument, condition is excellent, with very modest playing wear. Incredibly versatile instrument for the active concert artist looking for a rugged guitar that sounds great in any setting - solo or ensemble.
