Description

While building instruments in the 1970's, Ron Hachez was able to hear and repair many of the guitars of Miguel Rodriquez. In studying these magnificent instruments he found a tonal ideal for his own guitars. Through Ron's friendship with Henri Besancon (the late Orange County flamenco guitarist and luthier/repairman) – Ron was able to examine and play guitars made by history's greatest makers that came through his shop for repair work.

This flamenco blanca was built right at this period, in 1975 and is clearly influenced deeply by Miguel Rodriguez, many of the aesthetic details (mostly notably the headstock) and more importantly with the sound. Like Rodriguez was known to do, Hachez made this blanca with a cedar top, which in addition to the piercing, punchy qualities of sound found normally in spruce blancas, this one has an added richness to the tone, supplied by the cedar. This guitar has been used regularly as can be seen by the wear on it, but with the exception of one repaired hairline crack on the back, it is in fine performing shape. Overall a tremendous amount of guitar for the price - very musical, extremely playable (for a long scale) with a big southern Spanish sound.
