Description

This is Taiwanese luthier Tony Chen's concert model, named "Ovia" (the latter half of Segovia's name, Segovia being Tony's biggest influence as an admirer of classical guitar). This model is based heavily on the work of Greg Byers, featuring his structural build details, including elevated fingerboard, bracing system and even decorative details like headshape, rosette and purfling. Tony studied with Greg Byers first-hand and this is his "tribute" to Greg. Soundwise, this guitar strongly brings out all the elements of the cedar soundboard - warmth, width and density of tone in each note, a rich overtone content, and a dark, mysterious quality of sound that characterizes cedar when it is allowed to freely resonate. Although a used guitar, it has only very mild playing wear in the finish but is in otherwise excellent condition. 630mm string length makes this a breeze to play for anyone - both with smaller or normal-sized hands. Great value for the price!
