Irina Kulikova Records Six New Videos at GSI — Including a Duet with Jack Cimo
Irina Kulikova has returned to GSI to record six brand-new videos, featuring solo videos and one ensemble performance. A longtime friend of GSI and one of the top classical guitarists of her generation, Irina continues to captivate with her musical depth and flawless technique.
She began with a special piece dedicated to her: “Sadness Of The Queen” by Radmir Muftakhin. Irina recorded this performance on a 1981 Jeffrey Elliott classical guitar made with a spruce top and CSA rosewood back and sides.
In her performance of “Encounter” by Nemanja Bogunovic, Irina used a 2025 Paula Lazzarini classical guitar featuring a cedar top and Indian rosewood back and sides. Nemanja, the composer of this piece, is also one of the guitarist who recorded many videos for the GSI YouTube channel.
Irina performed Sergio Ercole’s “Valsa Negra” on a 2023 Jean Rompré classical guitar. This guitar is built with a cedar soundboard and Indian rosewood back and sides.
Next, Irina recorded Eduardo Diaz’s “Desde El Alma” using a 1987 David Daily classical guitar made with a spruce top and CSA rosewood back and sides.
In addition to her solo work, Irina also collaborated with guitarist Jack Cimo to perform “Lost Touch” from Vincent Lindsey-Clark’s Mix Bagatelles. This duet shows a different side of Irina’s musicianship and highlights the wonderful musical connection between the two artists. Irina and Jack recorded this video on two Marco Bortolozzo guitars.
