This guitar is a beautiful example of a guitar built in the early 20th century Madrid style (Manuel Ramirez era - up to c. 1916) that was actually built in 1979 - the post-Jose Ramirez III period (where guitars were largely heavier - with double sides or double backs, cedar tops, and typically long scale). Of course this smaller-bodied, more lightly-built type of instrument has in the past 20 years resurfaced and become one of the leading styles preferred by guitarists today - but it was a style never abandoned by Vicente Camacho, as this instrument attests. It has a warm, lyrical quality to the upper registers and very open but clear basses. It has plenty of volume for any recital or concert venue and plays like a dream - very loose and easy on both hands.
