Description

Angelo Vailati has been building guitars for about 2 decades now, and his highly qualified background includes doing an apprenticeship with Enrico Bottelli in 2005, participating in the José Luis Romanillos masterclass in Siguenza (Spain) in 2006, and in 2008 he spent time in Gohar (Granada, Spain) with Daniele Chiesa. Angelo moved his workshop from Gropparello (Piacenza, Italy) to Bologna, Italy where he continues to work now. His guitars are strongly inspired by the great historical makers coming from the Torres/Hauser tradition. This particular guitar we offer here is exquisitely made with understated but very refined appointments in the detailing with lovely use of quilted maple for the purflings in the top, back, sides and rosette which gives the guitar a beautiful aesthetic glow. Soundwise, it has a relaxed, warm, old-world quality of sound that is reminiscent of the early 20th-century Spanish school. Condition is excellent with only very light wear in the finish, and a (repaired) ding behind the bridge which is barely noticeable. Overall a very satisfying instrument in every regard, fun to play, beautiful to listen to.
