Carlos Juan Busquiel Makes His Final Guitar From Wood Acquired From The Great-Grandson Of Antonio de Torres!

Spanish luthier, Carlos Juan Busquiel, has shared some sneak peek photos of his newest instrument built for GSI. Carlos works in the town of Petrer located in the region of Alicante, Spain. 

The guitar is already finished and soon it will be on its way to GSI. As you can see, the materials are very impressive. Carlos used a very fine piece of cedar for the top and the back and sides are made of a very special set of CSA rosewood with an interesting backstory! Last summer Carlos acquired some sets of CSA rosewood from the workshop of Francisco Salvador Jiménez who was the great-grandson of Antonio de Torres! Francisco passed away eleven years ago, but his widow didn't sell the wood from his workshop until recently. Carlos found this wood through his friend, luthier Carlos González, who is also the director of the Antonio de Torres Museum in Almeria, Spain. We've already had two guitars in our store made from this particular set of CSA rosewood. This new guitar is going to be our third and final instrument since Carlos has already used his supply of this particular set of wood.
