Watch David Steinhardt Play 3 Guitars

David Steinhardt is an accomplished classical guitarist who contributes to the community and has many accolades to his name. As a teenager in high school, he was a featured young artist on NPR’s “From the Top” radio show, he went on to win several guitar competition prizes, he was the 2018 winner of our GSI Summer Arts Scholarship, he studied with William Kanengiser and Pepe Romero at USC and more recently he became the host of The tonebase Classical Guitar Podcast, with David Steinhardt (which I really enjoy listening to for all of its highly involved and in-depth discussion of topics especially focused on repertoire interpretation).
When David made his way through Santa Monica and into the showroom, we were excited to meet and host him, and we were thrilled to see that he chose to play three very different pieces on three great guitars. Below, you’ll see and hear him play the Arlen/Harburg jazz ballad standard “Over the Rainbow” arranged by Takemitsu on a 2016 Bernd Martin, Tárrega’s “Gran Vals” on a 2019 Francisco Muñoz Alba and Maxwell Davies’ “Farewell To Stromness” on an elegant 2017 Jochen Röthel.
