For players seeking a more traditional-style flamenco - lightweight, punchy and fast responding, these instruments by Hermanos Camps simply can't be topped. Brothers Jordi and Javier Camps have collaborated with acclaimed flamenco performer and pedagogue Manuel Granados who tests and certifies each instrument before it leaves their premises. Primary emphasis is insuring the lightest but solid build possible, incredibly comfortable low and easy setup (flamenco action with just the right amount of sizzle from controlled fret-buzz) and precise attention to the super clean "fit-and finish". Of course tone quality and balance are the ultimate concern and we are extremely proud to say that these are genuine Spanish-made flamenco guitars.
This is a "Primera Negra-A", which is a concert-level instrument weighing in at +/- 1250 grams. The best quality woods are chosen for this model, and a much more delicately constructed top (having mainly to do with the distribution of the thicknessing and strutting) is employed, making this a much more time-consuming instrument to build over the "Primera" model. It also features upgraded tuning machines, but it is the added work to the soundboard that provides for a broader range of musicality. It has added projection over its blanca counterpart, due to the more rigid and stiff materials for the back and sides (Indian rosewood vs cypress). Although still a flamenco, this is the model in the Camps flamencos that could also be used for classical, so for the flamenco guitarist seeking versatility in his repertoire, this may be his best option. Like the blanca, it has great responsiveness, easy action and very accurate setup (assisted by a re-enforced neck). Although used, this guitar is in like-new condition, practically brand-new.
