This model is a "negra" which of course was popularized by Paco de Lucia after he began playing and recording on one in 1969, but these also been picked up and played by countless other flamencos since. This particular instrument was originally custom-built so it has several notable features - the body size/shape is based on the slightly smaller blanca (A26) produced by the shop at this time, it has a 660mm scale length and it is fitted with the rosette and bridge details that were normally only used for the 1953 "re-issue" model. It has a driving, aggressive quality that makes it the ideal solo instrument for concert settings or the recording studio. Workmanship is the usual very high standard for this maker, very clean, precise and with a refined aesthetic, including the instantly recognizable and now iconic "media luna" headstock shape, which has become the symbol of the Conde name for over half a century. Although "used" it is in like-new condition.
