Paul Galbraith - Albeniz' 'Bajo La Palmera'

Since Paul Galbraith is coming to L.A. for the LMU guitar festival (and since I still don’t know the classical players nearly as well as the flamenco guys) I thought I’d check him out. First of all, his playing really is beautiful. But how did I not know about his setup? I’ve never seen this before. Listening to it you’d never know there was anything weird, so I guess if it works for him why not. I’m curious if it sounds better/different in the room there with him. I’m guessing that the box on the floor doesn’t really affect the sound at all, since there’s just a piece of metal connecting the guitar and the box, and that metal rod wouldn’t be a great conductor of sound? Great playing, though, so who cares.
