Description

This is an excellent and very impressive guitar all around. The first thing one notices with this guitar is its striking appearance - most notably the gorgeous four-piece back of Honduran rosewood (the favorite wood of Miguel Rodriguez Jr.) with its dark-chocolate color and swirly grain patterns. It's framed in contrasting light-colored maple purfling, with a beautiful quarter-sawn spruce top that simply makes the guitar stunning to look at. Workmanship is clean, simple and refined. The sound itself is textured, with ample overtones yet excellent clarity and balance - a wonderful synthesis of the Spanish and Northern European styles. The body of the guitar is very light in weight making it respond like an early 20th century Spanish guitar, but it has a slightly "weightier" neck and stiff neck joint which gives it noticeably increased sustain, balanced across all registers. Playability is a breeze with a very easy and comfortably shaped neck profile. Suitable for any size auditorium - also a wonderful recording instrument.
