Description

The late Félix Manzanero was born in Madrid in 1937. At the age of 9 he studied music at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid and, later, at the age of 14 he entered as an apprentice in José Ramírez's workshop. There, like many others (Manuel Contreras, Paulino Bernabe, Teodoro Perez, etc.) he learned the difficult art of string instrument making and was quickly recognized as a first-class officer. After staying there for twelve years, he set up his own independent workshop in 1964 at Calle de Santa Ana 12 - which is where this guitar was built many years later. He designed his very personal head stock shape in the shape of an M, which like Conde Hermanos and the "media luna" has been a unique identifier of his instruments for decades.

This guitar is in excellent, almost "mint" condition showing virtually no signs of prior use. Setup is easy for both hands and it boasts that bold, deep "Madrid" sound known so well to all classical guitar aficionados and players around the globe. These guitars appear rarely on the market so this is a great opportunity to own a great-sounding guitar by one of Madrid's iconic builders, in top condition.
