The 2a model is a true concert guitar, and is built using the same specifications of Hill’s 1a Master model, using premium materials. The bulk of the work is carried out by Hill’s apprentices with Hill himself overseeing the entire process and personally handling the most important adjustments and details. The result is an instrument that is very similar to the 1a Concert model but at a much more affordable price point.
Like Hill's 1a model, this 2a is typical of the 'Granada' style - lightly built with a big, punchy attack and very lively character of sound. It has lyrical trebles and plump, juicy basses. It's very sensitive to the touch and position of the hands and so has great color, dynamics and expression. The smoothly rounded neck is very comfortable and easy to play for virtually any hand type or size. Overall, a very versatile concert and recording guitar. The classical model comes standard with 650mm scale and 53mm nut.
