Beschreibung
Hintergrund
Mariano Tezanos and Teodoro Pérez
Tezanos-Pérez guitars were built in Madrid from 1991 to 2005 by Mariano Tezanos and Teodoro Pérez, two veterans of the celebrated José Ramírez III workshop. Mariano Tezanos Castro, born in Madrid in 1949, joined Ramírez as an apprentice after finishing his studies in 1963, and from 1984 he built his own instruments inside the Ramírez shop, signed "MTC No. 10". Teodoro Pérez, born in 1952 in the province of Soria, began his Ramírez apprenticeship in 1966 and qualified as First Official in 1970, stamping his guitars with his initials, GPM.
Tezanos-Pérez Guitars, Madrid 1991–2005
In 1991 the two teamed up in a Madrid workshop of their own – their labels give the address Calle Vicente Camarón 14 – building classical and flamenco guitars – including the "Maestro" and "Concierto" models – with stunning materials and the big Madrid sound both had learned at Ramírez. In April 2005 they parted ways amicably and each set up his own shop: Mariano with his nephew Sergio Tezanos, and Teodoro with his family.
