William Kanengiser's Concert for AGS - May 9, 2026
The American Guitar Society continues its 2025–2026 season with the concert of William Kanengiser. The event will take place on Saturday, May 9 at 7:30 PM at Faith Lutheran Church in Canoga Park, California.
Praised by the Los Angeles Times for his “delicately honed, lucid phrases” and effortless command of technically demanding music, Kanengiser has built a career defined by both virtuosity and curiosity. A founding member of the Grammy Award–winning Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, he has helped expand the reach of the classical guitar through innovative programming and genre-crossing collaborations.
Beyond the concert stage, Kanengiser is a dedicated educator and advocate. A longtime faculty member at the USC Thornton School of Music, he has influenced generations of guitarists while also championing musician wellness through his work with the Thornton Wellness Initiative. His recent “Diaspora Project,” supported by the Augustine Foundation, highlights new works exploring themes of migration and cultural identity.
Equally at home as a performer, arranger, and creator, Kanengiser brings a rare breadth of experience to every performance. This AGS concert offers audiences a chance to hear an artist who continues to redefine what the classical guitar can express.
