Description

This guitar was generously donated to the GSI Foundation from the great virtuoso Angel Romero. Angel has had this guitar since the 1980s, but because it lacks a label, we do not know the exact date it was made. It appears to be a Ramirez-style instrument made in Japan, very likely by Alvarez based on several details both externally and internally. It plays and sounds fantastic, and it's easily understandable why someone of Angel's stature would have practiced on this guitars for several decades - it has a full, thick and powerful sound, great balance and separation. It also features beautiful materials including some lovely CSA (laminated) rosewood for the back and sides. Condition is excellent with no damage or repairs, and setup is nice and comfortable, this guitar is ready for many more decades of playing!
